The sound of cars driving by on the street and the idle chatter of people passing filled Isabella's background as she looked up to what appeared to be some sort of office building. She looked down towards one of her hands, her other tucked away into the pocket of her coat. "Gesellschaft..." She read the one, large word off of the front of the card in her hand. She recalled back to her encounter with someone, apparently an officer belonging to this association, who had given her an interview and told her to come here for a job. It was worth checking out, but she heard of this group before. Wasn't it some independent military thing or something of the like? She didn't imagine an office building in New York to be some place they ran. Something more along the lines of a base in a desert or a field just outside of a no-name town was more in line with what she imagined.

The blue haired began to walk forward finally, carefully moving up the few steps to the front door. What she'd find inside was what appeared to be a lobby of sorts, much like one might expect from the first floor of any other office. Her eyes for the moment would be drawn to the front desk, where a woman sat, one who was currently typing away at a keyboard with her eyes focused on a monitor. Isabella made her way to the desk, gaining the attention of the woman after a few seconds. "Is there something I can help you with, ma'am?" she'd ask in a helpful tone, one that would also convey a sense of being recycled, like one would say throughout the day.

"Yeah..." Isabella replied slowly, looking back down at the card she had been given just yesterday. Her fingers worked to flip it over, letting her read off a name that had been written down in blue ink on the back. "I'm looking for an Astrid...?". That name, it sounded familiar. She recalled some articles mentioning both that name and Gesellschaft. Perhaps she was in charge? As the gothic woman finished her though, she'd look back to the woman behind the desk, being met with a look of slight suspicion. "Miss Müller wasn't expecting any appointments today, may I get your name?" she'd ask, reaching over to a device on her desk, having multiple buttons along with a speaker.

"Isabella, Isabella Heinz" The dark haired woman replied, forcing a smile towards the receptionist. The other would simply pressed down on a button as this she'd get a response and lean closer to the device on her desk before she'd speak into it. "Excuse me ma'am, you have a Miss Heinz that wishes to see you, Isabella Heinz."

Offices, especially American ones, were something which Astrid was not too fond of if she were honest. She much preferred being out in the field or at the very least back at home which she was familiar with - instead, she found herself essentially stuck here for the time being until her business in New York was concluded. Which was somewhat annoying due to the fact that she had never planned to stay here for longer than perhaps a few hours, yet now that time had grown to become an entire day and she had little idea of how much longer after that it would be until she could finally leave and return to Augsburg where she felt that her presence was needed most.

Her musings on her desire to return home were interrupted however as the sound of a female voice chimed through from a small speaker connected to an intercom on her desk which indicated that she had a visitor apparently wishing to see her - something that was surprising, for certain, but if it helped in passing the time while she was stuck in this God forsaken place she did not see any reason not to simply go along with it.

["Send her in."] She said in German, assuming that the woman on the other end would be at least familiar enough with Astrid and Gesellschaft at this point to know the simple phrase although would repeat herself in English if necessary. Astrid would then sit up at her sparse desk that seemed to only contain various papers and an old-fashioned quill pen with ink-well and very little else. She adjusted her uniform and waited, then, for the woman to be either instructed or escorted to the Fuhrer's Office.

If the woman did indeed arrive, she would find The Fuhrer herself sitting behind the desk and looking up from one of the various papers with a curious look being cast towards the stranger as she would speak towards her after a short pause:

["Hello, are you the one who wanted to see me?"] Astrid asked, again speaking her native tongue but this time doing so to gauge the other woman's knowledge, curious as to whether or not she would have to speak in English or would be able to converse more comfortably in her own language. She would wait for a reply and then depending on whether or not the woman replied in English or not Astrid would go on to speak further in whichever language the woman answered in.

["What brings you to Gesellschaft?"]
She would ask next, raising a brow towards the other woman as she invited her to move forward and take a seat in front of the desk so that they could continue their interview face to face rather than with the other woman being all the way across the room.

She waited patiently for the woman's answer, doing her best to appear as polite and professional as she could despite her typically rather vicious nature seeing as she was out to recruit this stranger if they were not already intent on joining, rather than scaring them pointlessly.

The receptionist nodded as she received an answer from the other end of the call. "Yes ma'am." she replied, doing so in English. Several things could be drawn from the simple exchange, the most logical one being that the worker had been knowledgeable enough to understand some simple, German phrases, but not enough so to speak it herself. The woman turned her head and tilted it back up, raising a hand to gesture towards an elevator on the other side of the room. "She'll see you, just go on to the elevator, she'll be on the top floor, it's the door with right down the hall once you step out." she explained, receiving a nod from Isabella before she'd make her way over to the elevator. Her hand reached to to call the ride, stepping in as the doors opened for her. Inside, she'd press the button to bring her to the top floor of the building.

In the time it'd take for the elevator to ascend up, Isabella looked back down at the card she had been given just yesterday, flipping it over to look at the name the stranger wrote. "Astrid..." she murmured. It was still such a curious name. She couldn't quite put her finger on its curiosity. She had already drawn that she read the name in articles, and that was really it with her familiarity with the name. Soon enough, the elevator slowly stopped as it had reached its destination, its door's opening for the blue haired woman. Her hand fell back to her side as she'd move across the hallway, stepping into the door she had been told was Astrid's office.

The first thing the woman noticed was the rather young looking girl sitting behind the desk, to which Isabella simply gave a strange look towards her. Well...she did recall an article that had put up a picture of the famous leader of Gesellschaft, and this did look like the girl in the picture. However, she never fully believed it was really her. She looked so young, nothing like how the leader of an independent military group. The idea that this was some weird, office prank crossed her mind, but this was the same girl from the photograph online. She didn't think anyone would go that far with some joke.

"[Yes, that is me.]" The blue haired woman replied to the other's initial question, doing so in the same language as Astrid had spoken first. Slowly, she'd make her way to the seat in front of the blonde's desk, pulling it out to allow her to sit in across from the other girl before she'd respond again. "[I met with someone who claimed to be affiliated with you, he asked me some questions and then gave me this card.]. As her pause began, the gothic woman put the card she had been carrying on to the desk, sliding it towards Astrid before she'd speak up again. "[They said I could potentially find a job of some sort here, and I have been looking into finding another one. My current one lets me live and eat comfortably, but it's not quite enough to let me enjoy my hobbies you see. ]"

["We have jobs for those who are willing to follow our cause."] Astrid would say, her expression becoming serious as she gazed across towards the gothic woman and continued to speak in a voice that was calm yet serious in each word she spoke as she laced her hands together on the top of the desk. ["Though I do suppose it also depends upon what these 'hobbies' of yours are, Miss Heinz."] Astrid continued, allowing a pause to fill the air for a moment before she spoke once more. ["I will say quite bluntly that we are not 'Good' people in the eyes of many - though, if our Recruiter has already spoken to you, perhaps you already know a bit about us and our mission."]

Astrid would let another pause fill the air, seeming to be gauging the other woman's response to her words for a moment before she finally would speak again, fidgeting idly with the jewel upon her neck which held a "Power" rune within its center: ["If you have no qualms whatever becomes necessary to further our cause - I can definitely offer you more than gracious accommodations in our group for you: After all, I have a feeling about you that makes me believe that you may be worth the effort."] The girl continued to speak, her somewhat eerie grin widening on her lips as she did so, leaning forward slightly as she looked at the other woman with a curious gaze. ["Though if you have any questions about us, our cause, or even myself - feel free to ask and I shall answer. I would not expect you to join those who you know nothing about after all."] She added, before then falling silent and allowing the other woman to speak at her leisure and being ready to answer any questions that she was asked in a prompt manner.

Isabella leaned back into her chair, laying her hands on the arm rests as she'd keep her focus on the blonde. She didn't seem to be phased as the other woman spoke ominously about the things her organization did. She shifted her weight slightly, leaning into one corner of the chair as she'd hum quietly, seeming to be thinking of how to reply. "[I wouldn't say I've adamantly studied the activities your group does normally, but I've read a bit of what came to me online...]" The woman finally said, crossing one leg over the other before she'd continue to speak. "[I prefer not to get into...questionable things myself. However, I don't mind being affiliated with people who do those kinds of things.]". It was then that the blue haired woman moved to cross her arms under her breasts, casting her gaze downwards, her pupils seeming to line with the front edge of the blonde's desk.

She paused for a moment, seeming to be continuing to think for a few seconds before speaking up once more. "[All I really want is the money to keep pursuing my hobby, you see. I like to sort of - create things, like inventions, as weird as it sounds to actually call something that.]" Isabella rambled, her lips pursing slightly as she went on. "[I went and got a PHD in Theoretical Physics and a Masters in Engineering, and all I've been able to do with it is become a front desk receptionist...]" the woman forced a chuckle to mix with her words as she'd speak, cocking her head to the side so slightly as she'd take a breath. "[So I guess that leads me here...I understand that what I just said isn't exactly the best sales pitch for my skills, but I was hoping to be able to find something more here.]" .

Isabella let out a small sigh, straightening her back to sit up properly in her seat, tilting her head up to look towards the other woman. If she were honest with herself, she had no clue what she would be able to find here. She half expected to have been lied to by some goon in a costume really. To make it this far into the place and actually get to speak with the head of the organization. It kind of felt like some elaborate prank.

["We could certainly make better use of your talents in Gesellschaft."] Astrid said with a nod, before then speaking further in regards to what the woman had said previously. ["I do not expect you to kill for me just yet, nor do I expect you to do anything which you would feel uncomfortable with. All that I ask is that you help my own scientists with your expertise and in return, I shall grant you the position and resources necessary to pursue your hobby as you see fit."] Astrid continued, offering a wide grin as she extended her hand towards the woman across from her.

Astrid was being honest with her offer, she fully intended to allow this woman to tend to her own hobbies if she would agree to aide in Gesellschaft's research in return. It was a fair trade, Astrid figured, and furthermore it meant that they would have more scientists to add to their fold rather than common rank and file soldiers that did little more than killing for a living - they were only useful up to a point, and then their talents were of comparably little use against those who could turn the tide of battle with a single machine or serum. It was those who could win a battle without firing a single shot that she admired for their wit and their ability as it was something that Astrid herself felt she would never be able to do as she far too much enjoyed the battlefield and destroying her enemies in as many horrific ways as she could dream of.

She focused her attention on the woman ahead of her, waiting for her to either accept or decline the offer: If the woman accepted, Astrid would give the woman a small medal which held the eagle emblem of Gesellschaft's military with the "Uruz" rune clutched in a jewel hanging from its talons in order to represent that the one who wore it was a part of the faction and was worn - as Astrid and even simple administrative individuals did - above the right breast pocket.

If the woman chose to decline, Astrid would be understanding in this and simply turn the woman away and walk her out of the office before having her be escorted away by a few of her unarmed soldiers that were stationed in this Office that served as their base of operations in America.

Isabella took not time in thinking about the offer, instead simply reaching out to shake the other woman's extended hand, signifying her acceptance. "[I look forward to working with you then, Miss Müller.]" The woman said, a smile coming across her lips. This turned out to be much simpler, and more satisfying than she thought it would be coming here. She would finally be able to resign from her dull job as a receptionist and actually make use of the skills she had practiced for years. She thought she'd have to bring in a diploma or even her resume. She thought finding a job in America was such a hassle, it must have been some strange case however. This felt like a much more natural way. She thought just how much screening there was to answer phones at a desk was peculiar.

It was then that the blue haired woman was slid a badge, which she'd curiously pick up to examine. It matched the symbol on the business card she was given the other day. She'd look back up at the blonde for a second before her eyes went back down to the pin. For the time being, she'd pin the emblem on to her coat, over her right breast. After having done so, she'd bring up her left wrist and pulled down the sleeve of her lab coat, letting her see the small watch on her wrist to check the time. Her lips pursed slightly, as she'd hum. She didn't expect this to go so quickly. Her first impressions from her first few interviews made her feel as though this process was supposed to take up more time.

"[Is there anything else you feel we'd need to discuss at the moment?]" Isabella asked. How quickly this was going, it just made her uncomfortable. Though, she had to admit, being able to have a decent conversation in her native language was refreshing. The most she had been doing in terms of speaking German was people asking her what this and that was in it. It was actually pretty tiring after the third time. Then three years passed. She never expected to be able to have a decent conversation without using english since she made her move to the US. Though, she also didn't expect that if she did, she would be having it with the leader of an independent military organization.

["The only matters we need to discuss immediately shall be your position and which role you would rather fulfill in order to serve us."] Astrid would say in response to the other woman's question, moving her hand back to her side of the desk as she tapped her fingers idly against the top of the wooden frame. ["If I may be so bold - I would prefer to take you back to Augsburg, where our true Headquarters lie as that is where most of our research is conducted."] Astrid said, raising a brow towards the other woman as she posed this offer to her in a curious manner. ["Though if you prefer to stay in this great land, I suppose that we could give you a role here under one of my senior scientists as their Second Lieutenant."] She added, seeming to not care much for the idea of leaving Isabella here in America though begrudgingly seeming to entertain the thought at least if the woman were to refuse traveling back to Germany with the Fuhrer.

["Either way, we will make good use of your skills and - as I promised, we shall see to it that you are given all of the resources you need in order to continue this hobby of yours."] Astrid added after a short pause, that eerie smile of hers appearing once again upon her lips. ["I may be many things to many people - though, a liar is not one, even to my enemies."] She added with a soft laugh as if she had told a joke that only she understood but quickly halted herself in order to return her full attention to her newfound companion.

["So which would you prefer? Stay here, or travel to the Homeland with me?"]
She asked, now adopting a more stern and serious look as she awaited a response although she was careful not to emphasize one choice over the other as she wished to make sure that the other woman knew that such a decision was truly her own no matter what the Fuhrer herself may prefer as she was doing her best to accommodate her new Scientist of sorts.

"[Ausburg?]" That was the only word that came out of the woman's mouth as she'd look at the blonde with a genuine expression of surprise. That was quite an unexpected offer, Isabella thought to herself. This was definitely a place she'd want to work at. She couldn't find any other company or anything of the sort that would hire her on so she could pursue her passion. But moving all the way back home...would it even be a bad thing? She was thinking about this the wrong way, this was probably was the best thing to happen for her. She came to America is order to get her education, but she had left so much behind in doing so. She'd be able to invent and create to her heart's content, as long as it fell within Astrid's interests. But she'd get to see her loved one's again, she'd get to be home again.

A soft, content sigh slipped through Isabella's lips as she'd simply give a nod before speaking. "[I would actually love to go to Ausburg with you]" she'd reply, her lips curling into that of a soft smile as she'd lean back into her chair. There wasn't much for her in this country anyway it seemed. The only thing she could find in the way of decent work was with a German centric, private military company. Perhaps she had salvaged all that she could out of this great country, as the blonde put it. "[It will be nice to get to return home after all these years anyway.]". The woman crossed her arms under her breasts. Perhaps coming across that strangely pushy and forward recruiter was the best thing to happen to her yet.

["Then I wish to formally welcome to within the ranks of Gesellschaft, First Lieutenant Heinz"] Astrid said with a wide smile, standing from her desk and once again perhaps reminding the other woman with how small and young looking she really was as the Fuhrer walked around the desk and made her way to stand beside the other woman and placed a hand upon her shoulder upon doing so.

["I will be meeting you at this city's Airport tomorrow morning at nine-hundred hours, in the meantime feel free to get acquainted with my staff here if you've any questions. I will be ensuring with my soldiers that you get all that you need in order to bring your materials with you for the journey to Augsburg."] Astrid said softly before removing her hand from the other woman's shoulder and moving to the office door, opening it gently and beginning to move out slowly as she spoke. ["I must prepare some things myself - though if you need anything at all the Secretary shall be able to provide you with my number."] Astrid then added before moving out of the room and down the hall away from the other woman; Leaving her alone with the new badge, the business card and her thoughts on this entire situation as the Fuhrer had given her very brief instructions to work with though the young looking girl seemed quite pleased with Isabella's acceptance of her offer at the very least and furthermore seemed willing to provide her with any and all resources she needed or wanted to further her research - so perhaps such things did not matter as much.

Meanwhile, Astrid would go about preparing her own belongings so that she may leave by tomorrow morning to return home to Augsburg: She had enough of this city and was more than ready to see the walls of her own home again. America was a land she had always heard was a land of plenty and greatness, but in her own opinion it was much too noisy and crowded and the people were too nosy for their own good - such people would not fare well in her own organization when the time came and she would likely have to dispose of them, but such was a worry for another day.

Humming to herself, Astrid walked into the room within the large office building that served as her temporary bedroom and began packing her belongings in a suitcase: Most of which being spare uniforms and her pistol, with her rifle not being put away as she would carry it over her shoulder as always seeing as she did not need to deal with the local airport security due to having a dedicated small aircraft of her own that served as a private transport between the countries for soldiers of her own and Astrid herself if she chose not to fly on occasion.

After packing her belongings, Astrid decided to lay upon her bed and simply let herself rest for the time being - tomorrow was the beginning of what was sure to be a rather eventful series of events and despite her actual age, the young looking body of the Fuhrer required rest now and again after all.

[Exit]
