PostSubject: Crescent Moon Style   Sun Jan 29, 2017 4:13 pm

Skill Set Name:Crescent Moon Style - Mikazuki-Ryu
Elemental Property:Nature and Light.
Stat Specialization: Attack.
Skill Set Information: The Crescent Moon style of Swordsmanship is less of an actual style and more of a means of magical enhancement through the complete acceptance of their core ideologies, by living their lives as a Crescent Moon their spirit becomes attuned to the style, and is then manifested as a sort of Conjuration Magic that is then flowed through their weapon or used to enhance their perception, and bodies.

In Practice, Crescent Moon Style swordsmen are nimble and Master's of the style have been described as nigh untouchable, weaving around strikes and dancing across the battlefield like a leaf fluttering through the wind.
Crescent Moon swordsmen typically favor straight blades, arming swords, longswords, jian, anything that has two edges and can either be wielded one or two-handed.

Crescent Moon Style is the art of Preserving Life and protecting the Balance of the world around you, a Crescent Moon practitioner is often somber, attuned with the world around them, every blade of grass, every leaf, every ant, every gust of wind, upon complete acceptance of these ideals, Life and Nature around them seems to become brighter, more prominent, shine and be filled with more color and wonder than one without their perception can understand.
Because of this, they are often hesitant to act in combat scenario, Life is precious and must be treated with the utmost care, when it comes time for Swords to be drawn, a Crescent Moon swordsman hesitates, they doubt and question themselves. Is this the right thing to do? What will be the consequences of acting here? What will be the consequences of not acting? Can I settle this without killing them?

It is when a Crescent Moon style swordsmen pushes past that doubt that the true majesty of the Style can be displayed, when there is no more hesitation, they know the path ahead and their blade is finally freed from their sheath, they display a style, technique, speed and awareness in combat that they have become some of the most renowned bladesmen to ever live.

The Swordsmen of the Crescent Moon are silent upon drawing their blade, their eyes somber and their face expressionless, all life is precious and the act of drawing a blade is meant to be carried out as the end of someone's life.
They are mourning, giving blessed silence to the lives about to be lost.
When their sword is drawn, they've exhausted all other options, when a Blade is drawn, the time for talk is over.

Passives:

Dance of the Crescent Moon; Crescent Moon Style User's are always in a state of Zen, where they are capable of reading the Flow of Nature and people around them, predicting their movements and allowing them to easily weave between strikes and even be ready for the follow-up, giving the impression that they can carelessly weave through the battlefield, almost like they are dancing.

A Moment of Clarity; A Crescent Moon hesitates, living their entire life with their path clouded by Doubt, but a Crescent Moon who pushes past that doubt for the greater good? They are the ones who are the most dangerous.
Once Per topic a Crescent Moon Swordsman confronted with a task the must accomplish or a foe they must defeat, can set aside the doubt in their soul and mind, and unlock the latent martial ability they are always holding back.
[+25 Power, +25 Speed until their task is complete or the topic ends.]

Demon Slayer; Whenever they slay a demon they are granted +10 Vitality.

Skill Set Strengths:

They cannot go Unpunished; Crescent Moon Style is the use of own's Ideologies as a weapon while being aware and truly caring for all life that surrounds them, as such things that are meant to destroy life, light and nature are the best targets for a Crescent Moon Style practitioner.
[+10 Attack against Demons, Undead, or Dark Element User's]

Legendary Agility; Crescent Moon User's are legendary for their Swiftness and acrobatic ability, soaring through the air and nimbly avoiding all manners of attacks in ways that are breathtaking in their elegance.
Some say the Winds are on their side.
[Crescent Moon Style practitioners can direct small harmless gusts of wind to give them a boost in agility, either letting them boost themselves higher in a jump, redirect their momentum in the air, control their fall to prevent damage, among other supplementary effects.]

"We do not gather, because we are not One, we are Individuals, with our own hopes, our own dreams and if it comes to pass, we shall meet when we must, to do what we must. And we shall not Falter." - Grandmaster Sayomi, creator of the Crescent Moon Style.
Skill Set Weakness:
Cursed by Doubt and Hesitation; Crescent Moon practitioners are very susceptible to Illusions and Magic that assaults the mind, they are by nature, doubtful, hesitant and very open spiritually, which gives Psychic's, Illusionists, and others who work the assault against the minds and spirits of others a distinct advantage over the Crescent Moon Swordsmen.
-10 Defense against Illusions and Similar magic.

Swift footed, weak armed; Crescent Moon Style practitioners are not very strong physically, focusing more on surgical precision, in a contest of strength, they will almost certainly lose against another swordsman of similar ability.
-10 in Contests of Strength vs another PC.

Light load; Crescent Moon User's never wear thick leather or full plates of armor, if they do they lost most of their ability to fight properly and the Legendary Agility Passive will be nulled until it is removed.

“The world's full of bad things.
We can fight back, not just physically, but by showing people that it's okay to keep laughing.
It's okay to mock the assholes that keep trying to make the world be worse than it is.
That's how you really take their power away.
We laugh at them because they hate it, because they want to bring us down to their level.
So we don't let that happen.
We show people that all the monsters in the world can't take away humor, fun and hope.”

Passives:
Attuned to Life; Because of their unique way of seeing the world, they are quite insightful to the suffering and emotions of others, making them surprisingly empathetic and aware of the people surrounding them.

Balance is not a Lie, but an Answer; Spiritually active areas are instinctively open to a Crescent Moon, making detecting and communing with these area's a simple task and a joy for them.

Wandering Moon; No matter the time of day, or where they are, their gaze is always drawn to it, their eyes often mysteriously roaming towards the spiritual body and to those unaware, perhaps they are staring at nothing.
A warrior of the Moon, will always be able to find it.

Skill Set Strengths: Crescent Moon style is the use of an attunement with nature and it's flow to predict, dodge, maneuver, attack, deflect and counter-attack an opponent/opponents. They are swift, agile and flexible with the more adept students being taught techniques that allow them to step through the air itself. Crescent Moon Style techniques are quite potent against those aligned with Darkness and those who hold Demonic heritage, certain techniques gaining a substantial buff to their power against them.
Crescent Moon Style is the art of using ones own soul, their sense of self, their ideologies, hopes and dreams as a weapon for the greater good, and at the very pinnacle of this Style their is a technique rumored to be able to strike at one's very essence itself.

"We do not gather, because we are not One, we are Individuals, with our own hopes, our own dreams and if it comes to pass, we shall meet when we must, to do what we must. And we shall not Falter." - Grandmaster Sayomi, creator of the Crescent Moon Style.
